I think that is up to the Application Server Implementation ..unless you have custom class loaders in your EAR

I dont have any custom class loaders . ( I think that there will be two class loaders , one for web Module and the other for EJB Module )

There are three class loader.........At the top there will be classloader where your common classes will get loaded. Then come the one where your EJB module related classes will get loaded and then comes Web module.

Class loader maintains a hierarchy so that common classes are accessible to EJB and web modules and EJB classes should be avaliable to Web module.

This is way how it goes with WebLogic, i don't be sure about any other application server.

Ravi,
As pointed out by both vk jain and Uppala, it's an application server specific detail. You might want to check the documentation of the application server you are using.
