Hi All,
Finally, I took it today and passed with 96%. Although I was little disappointed with my score as I expected it to be 100% when I clicked the end button but Its a good score too and I am really happy for it .

The exam was much easier then I expected had a few drag and drops around 10, but ya was lucky to have only 4 questions from generics and threads each and it did not include wait/notify questions.

I would like to thank you all. Firstly kathy and Bert for the wonderful book and all the ranchers specially Ankit(always there to clear doubts), Ankur Kothari(he helped me clear my concepts by asking me doubts and kept motivating me after his exam), Minhaj(for sharing study material) , Rohan and everybody else who ask and solve doubts. I really learnt a lot from this forum.

Thanks to all of you,
@Minhaj: Well not planning for wcd, I will start my job hunt now.
@Rupali: thanks for writing your first post to congratulate me, and Welcome to javaranch.
@Saima: just be calm dont take much stress, read K&B thouroughly(I read it for about 4 times), keep reading 2 minute drills from time time and solve as much mocks as you can but dont buy any, free mocks available are more than enough. and yes follow java ranch. This is all what I did. All the best

Hey Neha ,

Congrats for such a good score.

Good to have 96% .

But i think your concepts are crystal clear.

Because i know since i have gone through some of your explaination .

So best of luck for your interview.

Now enjoy the success.

Thanks all.
@ Dimple Bav - It took me 2 and half months to prepare, I remember you asked this question sometime before.

@ Dimple John - well I completed my exam in 1.5 hrs with revising answers once. And doing drag and drops once again. Time they give is more than sufficient.

@ Suman - You dont need to stress yourself exam is really easy, and Yes do review your answers more than once and give some more thought to questions that confuse you. I guess there was only 1 question that confused me and I did it wrong. Drag and Drops should be done carefully as if you review them all the answers are gone and you have to fill everything once again which can be pissy and time consuming if you are running out of time. I did them once again because I had a lot of time.

@ Mohd Abrar Khan - The only book I followed was K&B, I had Khalid Mughal but did not go for it. K&B is more than enough for everything. The topics in which I had confusion I googled and got some really good articles for them. So I dont think you will need anything else then K&B and an Internet Coneection.

Heyy Nidhi, Thanks very much. I did only one test from examlab and scored very poorly in 40s so did not try it again as I could have lose my confidence. But ya go for it once as you will get to know how real exam is going to be. Its a great job done by Devaka.

Phew.. that's a relief to know. I tried an ExamLab exam today and barely passed, so was pretty shaken.
But NEways, good luck for future & I hope you will not abandon this SCJP forum now!

Congratulations Neha..!!

I also want to prepare for SCJP.. aiming for 90+ score...

I want to know how much time is required for SCJP preparation.. I know how to code in Java but not the intrinsic concepts required for exam..

Thanks Anurag, It took me aroun 2-3 months to prepare for scjp. I also had a basic programming knowledge of java but not the intrinsic as you said. so, I guess 3 months is enough time to prepare. I used to study for atleast 4-5 hrs daily and took a 10 days break towards the end of every month during which I did not study but used to follow java ranch and solve 2-3 mocks.

You just go through K&B as many times as you can and read the API's of all the classes and solve as many mock exams as you can. there are a lot available free on internet.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
