I just passed SCJP 1.6 on 18th Jan, I was wondering if the SCWCD 1.5 exam will be upgraded to 1.6 in accordance to the new Servlet, JSP etc specs

should i just prepare in general and wait till the SCWCD is upgraded for Java EE 6?

I am a student in my pre-final year, so i am in no hurry to complete certifications, I can wait one more year to give SCWCD.

what do you people advice?

Check this thread. But if you are in no hurry, you could just wait and see how it evolves.

Rohan,

If you are an IT major, I think you should take the exam.
You should also think about doing some free programming.
Join a couple of open source projects and get some practical experience.

In todays job market it is hard to get a job out of college.
The open source project would give you experience.
The experience translates into a higher salary.

You should definately create a couple of web sites that can showcase your experience with web programming.
A few web sites that have your name on them are a good business card. The employer can just pull up your web site to see what you have done.

Hello Joe,

You have suggested to join Open Source projects, where can I find such projects. Please guide me. I want some experience in Web Component Development.

Thanks in advance.
