Hi,

I have a webpage with dropdown list box year , day and month
Also checkboxes and radio button.

User doesn't want to browse the web page and click the submit button to see the values.

Is it possible? If it is , what are the options?

Should I pass the values directly in the url?

http://localhsot:8080/webpage.jsp?month=jan&day=27&year=2010&...so on

Is this correct syntax to pass the values ?

Please let me know

Thanks

I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish. Perhaps you can explain it at a higher level?

I have a webpage with month , year and day as a drop down list.

Without selecting the dropdownlist values on the webpage, Can I pass the parameter values directly on the url?

for example like below

http://localhost:8080/webpage.jsp?month=Jan &day=27&year=2010

thanks

How are you going to pass values that the user hasn't even selected?

What I meant is, if the automating process is an algorithm executed in a computer, how is it going to know which values the user is thinking of, and at which point the form should be submitted?

I want to pass the values to the parameters to the url like below

http://localhost:8080/webpage.jsp?month=Jan &day=27&year=2010

Is that possible? or what is the other alternative ?

That's what will happen anyway if the form is submitted via a GET. If you don't want to have the parameters in the URL, use a POST instead.

You can read up on HTML forms at http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp Specifically, pay attention to the form tag's "method" attribute.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
