JSP isn't going anywhere. You are being very myopic if you think that Windows is the only OS out there. ASP/.NET is making no inroads against Java, or anything else for that matter, on non-Windows systems. In fact, in my experience, I've seen the trend going in the exact opposite direction, with Microsoft-based systems being replaced by machines running some variety of Linux.

Is any IDE available in JSP to design websites like visual studio 2008?

I doubt it. But personally, the last thing I want is some tool generating my code for me.

Im not a Microsoft fan but in my good reputed company, the Java version of an application is being rearchitectured using .net. The reason given is 'reliable support' and ample documentation for Microsoft Products.

Yes, different people's experience will be different. That's why I said "in my experience" -- which has been the exact opposite: Windows and Microsoft being replaced wholesale.

The bottom line is that neither Microsoft's offerings or Java is going away anytime soon.

P.S. If you are going to quote me, please do so accurately rather than make it look like I said something that I did not say. I have fixed the post.

Bear,

I posted my reply agreeing with what you have said, if it looked like contradiction, my apologies.

Tauri.

What makes you believe that?

(That said, I'd have no problem watching JSF be swallowed, although with Seam it's actually not horrible.)
