I am trying to assign long values from my backing bean to a param component. If I hard code a static value, it plays nice. But when I try assigning the long value from my bean, I get a long winded exception.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is my facelet.

The profileId is a primitive long. Works if I hard code a value but not otherwise.

Did you implement the long as getter/setter or as public field?

should be getProfileId() and setProfileId() ...

regards
Stephan

Yes, I have getter/setter methods for the field.

Hello,
Can you post the faces-config.xml?
Could be the managed-bean entry is not correct. Do the other referenced properties (actions, profilename etc) work as desired?
Maybe the bean is not instanciated.
