Hello All,
Two of us were assigned to develop a new application fairly simple. we both have working knowledge of J2EE technologies and are in the beginning phase of struts. is it possible to develop an application in Struts in a month ( thats our delivery date)? the application is similar to the shopping cart application. How to start the application? also the applicaiton would be deployed in websphere server and I am planning to develop on Tomcat first as I can do both at work and home? how hard is the migration of code??
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Adithi.

If this project involves handling payments, transactions, and EJBs - well, good luck.
If not, I think it's very possible but expect a lot of overtime.
I would download a trial version of websphere instead of using Tomcat. If nothing else, it will help your brain keep things sorted properly.

If I were you, I will start immediately on the websphere+struts setup(since you said you had decent exposure to J2EE, it should not take that long).
I would start with one vertical slice of the system using your choosen tools.
I would also think about some level of logging using log4j or jsdk's own and also incorporate ANT related build from the beginning(so that you can add more complexity as the system gets built).
Just do it...

I would suggest you to work on a small sample form using the framework. So that you can trace out the minor problems in your main work.
That's my idea though !!!
