I am having problems accessing request in child frames.

my parent jsp is

<FRAMESET ROWS="15%,*">
<FRAME SRC="staticJspPage.jsp" NAME=TITLE SCROLLING=NO>
<FRAMESET COLS="20%,*">
<FRAME SRC="menuPage.jsp" NAME=frameb >
<FRAME SRC="runTimeJsp" NAME=framec >
</FRAMESET>
</FRAMESET>

here runTimeJsp page is being set throught request object. But by problem is that i am not unable to access request page from menuPage.jsp
i am using jstl for access request object.

Please Help

Hi,
Both the frames have different Request-Response objects and hence you will not be able to access Request object of runtime.jsp in menupage.jsp.
What you can do is use Struts-Tiles to re-design the page or try using jsp:include standard action.

Amit

Thanks for the reply amit.

you are suggesting me to use table and create 3 <jsp:include> to acheive the functationality so that request object will be accessed my all my jsp.

but i want to know, will i be able to access objects from one jsp included file to another files through form.
like i have a dropdown list in my link page. on selection i want to hide some field in my runTimeJsp page.

will i be able to do that ..

please reply ..

Hi,
This all will be happening when the HTML page is rendered in the browser and you will have to use JavaScript or any JavaScript library ( e.g jQuery JS library) to do such client side event handling.
