Hi,

Is there a session method which can set a maximum duration for a session to exist?

I know we can set a session timeout in the DD or setMaxInactiveInterval but these are based on a period of time with no access.

Kevin,
It sounds like you are asking if a session can be automatically invalidated if the user sits there and presses refresh all day.

If so, the answer is, not automatically. It isn't hard to implement though You can keep track of when the session was created and use a filter to invalidate any session that as a request after that amount of time.

I am thinking of a timer that runs every X seconds and determines if the user should be logged out.

However a user will not be pleased to find that an application suddenly booted him/her. Consider this when you implement this feature
