Hi All
I have just finished with the theoritical portion of Core Java. have not done enough handson though.
i am planning to write SCJP Plus in the first week of march , is it possible to clear this exam if i devote 2-3 hours of hands on every day.
considering that the SCJP Plus will be having subjective paper as well what else i will have to take care of.
PS: I cant change the date of the exam becuase Sun is prividing free exams to limited people in my company and for that date is fixed.

Don't post the same question twice; I have deleted the duplicate.
Moving to SCJP forum, where we usually discuss such questions.

EDIT: Well I see. I have signed up. But why do not they provide info about cities? For many people there is no use registering. How long does it take to change beta into final release?

I think Oracle is about to deprecate (more general term for Java folks) the older SCJPs. So they just want to check it how betterly does the new version of SCJP+ suits to Java folks?

From the last FAQ that I read, they did indeed want to rest the older SCJP versions. But that will take time. Lets see how the beta goes ( if it does go that is ). I hope this time they will not disappoint.

As for the cities, I do not think you need to mention it. Participants will be selected by experience level and assigned vouchers. They can display the voucher at a prometric center and take the exam. That is my understanding

That makes sense

You wrote that Oracle is about deprecation of old exams. So our SCJPs, SCWCDs, SCBCDs will be meaningless?
We will have to do new versions?

Your existing certifications hold good. The last FAQ said they wanted to retire SCJP 1.5 / 6 in favor of SCJP plus, which I think is great.

As for other J2EE certification, they also have a huge road map over haul, to be launched sometime in march. But existing cert credentials remain valid. There are new certification for JSF, web services, etc etc.

I did not receive an email yet. However, I do know this - you will be given 9 coding problems and a couple of multiple choice questions. It will take you 6 hours to get out

Q: What should I expect for the beta certification test and how much time should I plan to be at the testing center?
A: The beta test will include 9 coding problems and several multiple choice questions. You will have up to 6 hours to complete the test, Please allow up to 6 hours to complete the test. If you cannot give 6 hours to the test please don't plan on taking the beta test.

Why didn't Sun inform us as they promised last year?

We wanted to inform you that the full beta for the new Sun Java Programmer Plus Certification has been delayed to later in this year based on the results from initial beta testing and to align more closely with the upcoming release of JDK 7. We will get back in touch with you as soon as we have revised dates for the full beta test.

I tried to register today, but was informed that

All selections will be made by February 15, 2010.

Did anybody already receive a voucher for registration?

It could be an error. On the other hand, they might have selected from the lists of folks who applied last year to take part, or from partner companies. None of us really know how (or if) the process for beta exams is going to be changed with the Oracle acquisition (much less the rest of the certification program).

I disagree that there may have been an error. Some one went into the trouble of updating the dates, the registration form, the FAQ ( which now specifically mentions 9 coding problems and 6 hours ). Major presentations / announcements have highlighted the date March 1st for release of training / certifications for EE6 and SCJP Plus.

I do agree however that the Oracle acquisition might have put the brakes on some of the progress. Well lets see
