SCJD for someone with minimal experience

I recently completed my SCWCD and I'm now contemplating my next move. Would the SCJD be too difficult for someone with about a year of experience? The SCWCD was tougher than I anticipated because I underestimated the depth of my experience with J2EE.

I'm also worried that my resume might start to look too silly to employers if it just looks like I'm collecting certifications like mad. Is it better to wait and take the SCJD when I feel I'm ready for a Mid-level developer position?

Thanks, Dan.

Howdy, Daniel!

Would the SCJD be too difficult for someone with about a year of experience?

Well, you'll feel some difficulty, but you know... you'll have to search for your answers and how to develop the application... in the end, you'll realize that you learned a lot and that you improved your skills as a developer! We are not really able to tell if it will be too difficult to you, but I say go ahead and trust yourself!

I'm also worried that my resume might start to look too silly to employers if it just looks like I'm collecting certifications like mad.

Certainly not. Especially because you evolve when you take certifications. This is certainly something you don't have to worry about. You should see my supervisor at the post graduation, he's got all certifications (2 SCJPs and 2 SCBCD)... he just doesn't have SCJD. No need to worry about it, certifications are good for your health!
