Firts, I recommend to start with Servlets, then JSP, a finally JSF.

I think that is the right path.

"... in the end a JSP become a Servlet"

Ok, I'm thinking about getting Murach's Java Servlets and JSP, 2nd Edition and Pro JSF and Ajax: Building Rich Internet Components.

I like the Murach books and I might have to find some JSF beginners material.
