Hi, i have just completed my SCJP and SCWCD. I have no idea about EJB or hibernate. I want to know how to start for hibernate?

1. Please suggest one good book (If possible of Cathy. She is my favouraite).
2. Any online study materials.

Should i start with some sample application??? and then look back to theory..... I m so confused

There's loads of documentation, both introductory and reference, on hibernate.org; that should keep you busy learning for a good while :-)

Instead of learning EJB, start by learning JPA (which is the data persistence API used by EJB); Hibernate supports JPA.

Please suggest some links or book for it .

Consider two things:
1. I am dumb.
2. Hell lot of study material makes study more difficult .

I don't follow - surely there's no problem ignoring material that's too advanced? hibernate.org really should be your first stop. Go to the Documentation section and read the "Getting Started Quickly" road map.

Check out my signature links for some good Hibernate tutorials that will get you started and teach you the basics:
