I am new to hibernate..Can anobody suggest me the best site and book to start with hibernate..
Also I want to know Can I start with hibernate3 instead of going through hibernate2?

Hibernate's own site has a wealth of resource.

You don't need to learn old versions of the API before looking at the new.

Java Persistence with Hibernate is good hibernate book. Hibernate website as mentioned by Paul is also very good.

I always found Java Persistence with Hibernate to be just a tad overwhelming for people new to Hibernate.
