I am just wondering can I validate an JSP page in javascript, if some of the form fields are done using STRUTS tags

the following is an example

Is there any way in JavaScript that I could validate to see if the user has intered userID using instead of the plain html tags like ?

Please let me know all help is greatly appreciated

You can download a free sample chapter about validator from
this web page.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
