Hi,

I am implementing an email server using EJB, JMS.It should also attach a file passed by client remotely. My doubt is how can i attach the file which lies on some remote system ?

Do i need to first FTP the file on server and then use it for attachment or is there any other way to do so ?

If you are implementing a mail server that uses some sort of standard (such as SMTP) the attachment will be part of the mail.

No, I will sending the request to SMTP server. before that i need to form the complete email body and also provide details about the files to be attached.

I want to know how to handle the files located on remote machine.
