I saw most sample codes include javascripts inside <head> </head> section. Is it true I can include them ANYWHERE in the same HTML file ?

Yes you can. In fact many people use it when using JSONP with AJAX.

He probably meant that using JSONP requires embedding JavaScript at arbitrary places in the HTML body?
With a little knowledge, a
cast iron skillet
