Hi,
I prepare myself to get SCEA certification. Beside books I use some testing suits and mocks exams. I have a problem with one question.
There are three applications:
JSP, EJB + DB,
JSF+Ajax, EJB +DB
Swing + DB

It is necessary to bring the fresh news about stock market to the end user. Whit solution offers the best performance? I hesitate between Swing and Ajax …

Best regards!

Two solutions involve three layers, one solution involves only two. From that perspective, I'd say the 'fastest' would be the one that uses the fewest layers. No?

Is Question says anything about push or pull or it is web based or desktop. like news stock news will be pushed from server to client or client will pull the news whenever they want.

I think i will go with Ajax option. Swing will be faster, but then it will be desktop application and difficult to maintain. isn't ?

The question asks about performance, not long term maintenance.

You can see that on that way: there are two users; one has a swing software, the second one Ajax software. Which one gets the info faster?
