hi, I guess I'm out of luck here, but I'll give it a try..

I have this jsp which has <input type=file> elements. There's two possibilites where the jsp form can be send. It's sent either to "actual" prosessing page (servlet) , or to "itself", e.g. it "refreshes" current page (which has file upload-element). Now here's the problem. When the same page is loaded again I populate data into it based on request parameter values. So the user doesn't have to refill what he has already given. This works fine except for file upload elements. I can't set normal value-attribute for it (due to security issues). Is there anyway around this one? It would be silly that file elements would be emptied due to "refreshing"..

any help greatly appreciated

No; because of the security issue.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
