Welcome to the Ranch.

Like the API says,
This class contains various methods for manipulating arrays (such as sorting and searching). This class also contains a static factory that allows arrays to be viewed as lists.

You can use Arrays class to compare two arrays or get the copy of array etc. It has many public static utility methods to perform various functions with arrays.

As an aside, Arrays is one of my beefs with Java-the-language: these should be methods on the Array "class".

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
