Collection Merging not happening

I have two classes as below:

   

package com.demo;

import java.util.List;

public class App {

	public App(String name, int number) {

		this.name = name;

		this.number = number;

		// System.out.println("Name is " + name + "number is " + number);

	}

	private List<String> justlist;

	public String name;
	public int number;

	// public static void main(String[] args) {

	public boolean test(String name) {
		return (name.equalsIgnoreCase("test"));

		this.justlist = list;
	}

	public List<String> getjustlist() {

My Test case is like this

import org.springframework.context.ApplicationContext;
import org.springframework.context.support.FileSystemXmlApplicationContext;

import junit.framework.TestCase;

public class AppTest extends TestCase {

	private App a;

	@Override
	protected void setUp() throws Exception {

		ApplicationContext ctxt = new FileSystemXmlApplicationContext(
				"C:\\Documents and Settings\\rahul\\workspace\\SpringDemoProject\\src\\main\\java\\config.xml");
		a = (App) ctxt.getBean("app");

	}

	public void testApp() {

		assertTrue(a.test("test"));
	}

	public void testjustlist() {

		assertEquals(2, a.getjustlist().size());
	}

	public void testAppName() {

		assertEquals("ramesh", a.name);
	}

	public void testAppNumber() {

		assertEquals(2,a.number);
	}
}

My test case should fail as the List size should be 4 after collection merging..But it is not failing...Can any one suggest what is wrong here?

The list should be merge for the child, not for the parent.
Try again with this :

a = (App) ctxt.getBean("child");
