Hi all,

I just started learning Ant script. I read tutorials and also some sample scripts on apache website. I almost understood every elements in it except <pathelement> and its location attribute. In the code snippet, what is the use of <pathelement location="classes" /> ? what is the use of path attribute ?

Also, please explain what these script lines do ?

The script assume that there is a "classes" directory in the current directory, and adds that directory to the classpath.

The <dirset> type creates a collection of directories. The <include> and <exclude> entries let you refine which directories are actually included in the set.

By the way, you should bookmark the Ant manual in your browser, the documentation is very good. Start at ant_home/docs/manual/index.html
