I can't answer your initial question (because my former company paid the vouchers and registration was in 2007), but what will you do if you are on holiday in Spain, planned your essay exam and then the exam is cancelled for some reason? When I wanted to take my SCJP6 at the end of last year they had to cancel my exam (because the exam center had to close unexpectedly). So reschedule and plan another exam in Spain?

I would suggest trying to contact the sun educational services of germany and trying to get answers on your questions, so you are 100% sure about what you can do and can't do.
That would be no problem (at least here in BelgiumElchin Asgarli wrote:I called them now, they are only available at working times, so I will try again on monday. I just hope they speak English, cause my German is very limited

We are sorry for the delay in replying to your mail, the responses have been delayed due to the Oracle /Sun migration.
We also apologize for the delay in this assignment process, but we are moving this registration and download to Prometric. We are currently still ironing out the details and we will send you further instructions as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Christiaan
Kindly be advised that there is a delay in the processing of SCJD Step 1 (Assignment) due to the migration from SUN to Oracle systems.

The price for SCJD is as follows:
Step 1: CX-310-252A R2,166 incl Vat
Step 2: CX-310-027 R1,824 incl Vat
Payment can be in the form of a direct transfer or deposit into Sun's
account:
Reference: EDU (Your name)
Account Name :...
Please email proof of payment to my attention. There
after I will process your ORDER request.
Upon completion of this process, your voucher number will be released to you.
You may register with Prometric to schedule your exam with just your voucher number.

Candidates will no longer need a voucher to register for Sun exams at Prometric. Candidates will follow a simpler process of registration by simply registering for their exams as they always do at www.prometric.com/sun and entering credit card information when they get to the payment screen. Individuals will no longer be able to purchase exam vouchers from Oracle. All exam payments should be provided directly to Prometric in the form of a credit card.
This will save time for the candidate and make exam registration a smoother process.
Partners and Resellers may still purchase exam vouchers from Oracle University.
Pricing for Sun exams
To simplify pricing for Sun Certification Exams, Oracle is announcing all Sun exams will be sold for $300US with country-specific pricing in certain countries. Pricing may vary slightly by country or by localized currency. Check Prometric’s website for exact pricing in your country.
