How do you know your CV best matches their requirements?

The unemployment rate in the USA being what it is, the advice I'd give right now is: give it up. In a situation like the current, the first group of people who won't be considered for job openings are those without a valid work permit, even more so if they aren't currently in the country (which I'm guessing you're not).

Hi Jacob,

If I read correct you did not mention which country you are in right now. I assume you are in India.

To answer your question. To get job in USA you need H1B Visa. There are many consultant companies who can sponsor your Visa and you will work on their employment for their clients. Normally these consultants ask for bond(agreement), of 12 to 18 months. Salary differs on many factors. Few consultant will ask you security deposit also(be careful with this). These consultants starts their recruitment from Dec/Jan to March because visa opens in April. This year I have not heard of any consultant doing recruitment for H1B because of bad job market in US. Hope this helps you.

Obviously he should have some reason, is he expected to mention reason in his post? or it is just a curiosity.

Well, the job requirement might have said it all and the skills he has would have matched against it. However, only after a technical discussion can one find out if the resource meets all the laid out job requirements.

Hi Jacob,

This year no consultants are sponsoring candidates for H1B visa due to the strong anti-outsourcing sentiments in US coupled

with recession effects (still the recession has not ended completely and many are jobless)

If you are currently in India, i would strongly advise you to stay here (There are currently many opportunities here )

as of now & once the situation improves, then you can go ahead with your plan.

Last year i received couple of requests for H1B from consultants. But this year not even a single one.
