First copy the war file which you generated into the webapps directory of Tomcat. On my machine this is "D:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\webapps". Then start the Tomcat container. I bring up a command window and cd to D:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\bin, then enter startup. That should get your application deployed and running.

Note that Tomcat has to be stopped (shutdown command) and restarted each time a deploy or redeplot of a web app takes place.
