General Motors said on Wednesday that it would shut down Hummer, after a deal to sell it to a Chinese manufacturer fell apart.

My grocer said on Wednesday that he would no longer be making eggs available for sale in his shop as he had found out eggs to be non vegetarian and it was against his religious beliefs.

Before he knew this, did he think that eggs grow on an eggplant?

Do you really have that plant at your home?? Give me some seeds of it... I will grow them at my home as well!

Its a good thing that they are ending Hummer, that way I have a better excuse of why I can't buy a Hummer...

Hummers are a crime against humanity -- it baffles me that anyone would harbor any nostalgic feelings toward such an abomination. Maybe I should invent a car that runs on polar bear blood and Harp seal pelts; I bet it'd be a sentimental favorite.

+1. Absurd on multiple levels.

As my girlfriend said last week, "Aren't people embarrassed to drive those?"

(Just sayin'.)

Maybe the same thing should happened to Cadillac Escalade, Lincolin Navigator, Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover .
I'm not ashamed to confess that I love those big ladies.

What about their ads with the slogan, "Regain your manhood!" Now whenever I see someone driving a Hummer, I think to myself that guy must have a really tiny ... manhood.

I routinely refer to Hummers as "strap-ons".

Hey, Hummer is not a car. It is a kind of fight machine by origin...

Nah, its just a sign from the gods that gasoline/petrol in the US is way too cheap.

With fuel costing something close to the damage it does, no one would drive a stupid big truck that seats only four people.

Actually, the H1 production was shut down years ago as being too stupid to sell. The H2 is just a GMC Tahoe with fancy fenders.

If there is one vehicle that I fancy driving, its the Hummer.
yeah, yeah, I understand the concerns about its cost, the fuel mileage etc. (that's why I never bought it), but look at it.
Isn't it a beauty ? Have you ever seen a sturdier vehicle on road ? It looks so yummy, if I had teeth that matched, I'd eat it.
I was hoping that the Chinese company that wanted to buy it might change something internally that would make it more eco-friendly. Sigh!

Sure, tons of them. Freightliners, Peterbuilts, Kenworths, some Mac.

The Hummer is a truck. Why would anyone want to drive one on a paved road?

Beats the heck outa me. Last time I was on a Hummer, it was one equipped with a TOW missile launcher*.

Granted, that might come in handy during rush hour, but still...

* When I was in the military, my job was as a TOW trainer.

Nice photo. But that is not a real Hummer, its one of the pseudo-Hummers, probably an H2. They just look like Hummers, but are really just GM Tahoe's with a diferent set of fenders.
What does a metric clock look like? I bet it is nothing like this tiny ad:
a bit of art, as a gift, the permaculture playing cards
