Is this book more on concepts based or more examples based.
I have read one Struts book.
I read till the middle of the book and still was not able to write one simple "Hello World" kind of application.

In other way, what is the target audience for the book ? Novices, experts, Technologists, Company executives, technical sales guy etc?

Does it covers "Work under progress" on Struts development?

This book dealt more with patterns and pitfalls than it did with just getting started. I wouldn't promote it as a beginner book. Struts In Action is better suited for a beginner though the sample source code from Ted is scaffold based. Pro Jakarta Struts is for programmers with some experience, but not specific to an expert. The sample source code with Pro Jakarta Struts is a lot more intuitive in my opinion, plus the sample application is a blog; a real world application.

Hi Babla,

My book is assuming experience with JSP and Servlets. It tries to take a middle ground approach. We start with the fundamentals, but I did not start with any thing like a "Hello World" page. I think when looking at my book you need to look at your personal experience level. If you are still learning JSP/Servlets technology, you might initially struggle with some of the material in my book.

Thanks,
John
