Ooooooohhh! I want a detailed report about the test-taking process! Nothing about content, but what the test is like! I'm trying to study for the exam, but every time I take a practice test I fail miserably. I'm really lacking in basic theory, I guess.
GOOD LUCK

Hi Carol,
I study with this Book.
It is very good to read and it has ALL the gruesome details about how the test taking is taking place.
Kate: GOOOOOD LUCK !
You'll make it !!!

I was going to mention that book, from our own Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates.
Just before I took an exam like this (but not java), I happened across some tips they gave about this kind of test-taking in general - definitely helped a lot. As we all know, tests don't only test how well you know the subject matter, they also test how well you take tests. It makes a lot of sense to find out that kind of stuff.

I don't think I own the rights to "All the best"! - I'd be rich by now if I did!!
Many thanks for all your good wishes - I'm using Kathy and Bert's book (but I still have problems with Shift Operators!) and have understood most of it but I'm not sure I'll be able to remember everything for the exam!
Carol, if you'd like a blow-by-blow account of the test-taking experience (not including anything confidential, of course) I'll post something after the event (probably under the Sun Results forum).
All the best
Kate!!

Didn't quite make the 52% pass - 7% off at 45% (28 questions right out of 61) - but onwards and upwards; hopefully with another month's revision under my belt I'll be better prepared for the exam.
I did the tutorial, just to check that the method of answering the questions was unchanged. The first question arrived; I tried to find a suitable answer on the screen for each question, but if I couldn't I ticked the Mark box and went onto the next question, making sure that I'd completed the questions and still had enough time to go back over the questions that I'd marked and complete them before the time was up.
Many thanks for all your good wishes - 28 right is better than 27!
All the best,
Kate!!

When at first...
I bet taking taking the test itself will help a LOT for the next time around. Now you've seen what it's like, how the real questions are, felt the nervousness and survived. Keep pluggin' Kate!

Thanks for that Pauline - I'm sure that you're right and at least I'm now 45% there!
back to the revision, and onto OOP4!
All the best

Sorry you didn't pass this time, Kate. But now you have a good head start toward the next try.
