Regarding component mapping

Hi Friends,

can you please explain to me, what is component mapping? and it's use.

Well, by component you probably mean JavaBean, and you'd be mapping it to a database. So, Bean to table, and properties to database columns.

Why do you ask?

It's used to map value types in your entity. You must understand the difference between the concept of entity and the concept of value types to decide correctly whether to use value type or a entity in your maps.

Entity type are those who have there database identity where as value type are those who does not have identity of there own .Suppose you have a Class person which is an entity type and he can have many telphone no (you can have a class having property like number,type(home,office) ...)which you can have as value type
