Hello all,

I am having 4.5 yrs of experience in java/j2ee. I have joined a new organization (mnc) in chennai but as a software engineer. I did not demand for senior software engineer position. Is this a big blow to my career?? I mean when i try to switch after say 6+ years, will there be a question as to why i was not offered software engineer's position??

Thanks
siva

Not at all, more than designation your role in project is important and that. Different companies will have different criteria for deciding your designation so nothing to worry.

So you already started thinking of your next job no matter you joined your new organization recently!

Some companies (e.g. MNC) require at least 6 years full time experience plus a relevant university degree for a senior software engineer role, back when I had nearly 6 years experience(but not fully) I got an offer for a role as a senior software engineer from Accenture, but I joined another MNC and only just got software engineer role.
