I googled to see if there any easily available references to that. But couldn't find any informative docs, except a blog which points to a Pega Developer Network, which seems to require a registration.

Dear Samanthi,

I have been hearing that 3rd gen languages are going away for about 15 years now. I can't say it worries me a lot for the coming 15 years or so.

My company has looked at Pega. It's the new Microsoft FrontPage of the 2010s!

Any dummy can use it. No coding is necessary. It's cloud based UI allows users to "develop" your application. Pega generates all of the Java, JSP, SQL, etc.. code for you.

With several magical features (including drag and drop like FrontPage) your company will be losing control or your applications and the business side of your company will become furious. Tweaks to the UI will require a ticket to Pega since you aren't allowed to have the source code.

Companies should be scared of this "solution" since much control will be given to yet another vendor who doesn't have the same priorities your company has.

Nothing up my sleeve ... and ... presto! A tiny ad:
