please tell me how to display a JFrame on the top of another JFrame where the child JFrame acts like the JOptionPane . . . i.e we cant access the parent JFrame until the child JFrame is closed . . . what modifications i have to do?? i have searched for the correct properties, but i can't. . .

Use a modal JDialog.

yes, i have already made it with JDialog . .. but i dont know how to block that parent window . . . yesterday after posting this thread, i again searched the sun java tutorials . . . then i find the option Modality of JDialog. . . with that option , my problem was solved . . .
