Hello All

If the HttpServlet abstract class implements all the doXXX methods, why is it an error if a 'get' request is made and there is no doGet() in the servlet? Why doesn't the inherited doGet() run and display a empty page?

Thanks!

Because that's not the what the Specification dictates. The Specification dictates that the not implemented error is thrown.

That was quick! Thank you for the answer. That question has been bothering me for a while now.

I don't get it. A whale wearing overalls? How does that even work? It's like a tiny ad wearing overalls.
