I am very new to JSF and rich faces so I need some help from you experts.
I want to get the status of a node by calling a controller bean method and passing the node id.

<rich:treeNode type="service" iconLeaf="#{item.icon}"icon="#{item.icon}">
<hutputText value="#{item.formattedStatus}" id="serviceStatus" styleClass="#{serviceManagementController.nodeStatusStyle('#{item.id}')}"/></rich:treeNode>
......

I am getting a syntax error.
//C:/CSO_1.0/cso_src/cso/dest/cso-servlet-single-war/serviceManagement/customerTree.xhtml @325,133 styleClass="#{serviceManagementController.nodeStatusStyle('#{item.id}')}" Error Parsing: #{serviceManagementController.nodeStatusStyle('#{item.id}')}

Please help.

Thanks in advance

Try this instead:

However, I'm not sure if what you want is really what you need. RichFaces has events and status methods that can be implemented in backing beans for stuff like this.
