I passed the SCJP6 test on Saturday 04/10/2010. I was hesitant about posting this score considering I didnt do as well as I planned, but I knew when I went to take the test that I could be a little more prepared, but I was pressed for time. However, I am posting because I know the main point is to learn the different concepts and become a better programmer. I studied 4 months for the exam which included purchasing and reading the Kathy and Bert's book. Prior to that I didn't have a lot of Java experinece so preparing for the test was a learning experience for me as well and I know now that I'm definitely a better programmer now. However, I did ok on threads which some say tend to be the more complex questions, at 80% what brought my score down was 37% on collections/generics. I used the K&B book, Exam Labs and Whizlabs I purchased the full mock exams from WhizLabs but skipped straight to the final exam as I was schedule to take the real test in 3 days. I'm sure had I had more time to take the others I would have scored higher. As far as Exam Labs I took 3 test including the diagnostic test. Great Product. I will definitely be making a donation. Thanks Devaka. You should see a donation from me shortly.

Also, I am planning to take the SCWCD exam next and I was wondering is there a particular book that is as good as the one written by Kathy and Bert for the SCJP. This was the only book I used to prepare for the SCJP exam.

congratulations! don't worry too much about the score! main thing is you prepared a lot and it will definitely help you in future. Understanding of the basics and concepts is more important than a score.

Congratulations mate,

No score is bad, as far as you know that you have put honest hard work. What is the objective of this exam at the end of day? Ofcourse learning.
Great score and congratulations.

Congratulations. The SCJP exam just opens up doors to the next levels of certification so it's good that you pass it.

By next week or sooner, you will receive 2 e-mails from Sun. One e-mail will give you your Sun Certification ID and have information on how to register for the Certification Database. If you do not get that e-mail, send a message to who2contact@sun.com to ask about it.

Two to three weeks (or longer if you are not in the U.S.) after you register into the Certificate Database, you will receive in the postal mail a welcome kit containing your SCJP certificate and a small plastic wallet-size ID card that indicates your SCJP status. Your score is not printed on them. If you do not get that package then send a message to who2contact@sun.com to ask about it.
