I am curious about the title and since I am planning to explore facebook programming a bit, I am wondering what this book is all about?
I would be glad if Author can elaborate a bit more on this.

TIA,
- Manish

Hi, Manish.

You may wish to refer to this other thread but what the book is about is using social network profiles within your own applications and web sites. In the beginning, the Facebook Platform was for building internal Facebook applications but with Facebook Connect you can now utilise user data externally, too.

I'd refer you to the Facebook Developer Wiki but also the Facebook Connect landing page.

The book is really about making web sites and applications more "social" by allowing users to post updates, share links and many other things with popular platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Is there a project you had in mind?

Thanks Mark!
I have something in mind, but it's too premature to discuss it now.

BTW, is there a chance that this book will get published in India? As in, Indian edition?

Good question, I can certainly find out for you. I'm pretty certain the only language it'll be in is American English, though. Many of the code examples should be transferable if that's any consolation!?

It's not about translation. Indian editions are pretty economic in terms of price. Rest all can be same!
