can anybody please help me out with any tutorial or documentation or any source code in java regarding the Http Long polling?
I am trying to implement this in java.

Do you mean polling the server for response? Try out servlet 3.0 it has support for comet.
You will need glassfish 3 to run servlet 3 apps.

Actually the client should poll the server for an event or events.I am trying to implement that using http long polling.
If there is any sample code any docementation that will be of great help.

Is this client a web browser, an applet or a Java application? If it is a web browser than you will need JavaScript.

You can use java.util.Timer for the polling.
