Hi All,

Wanted to share the good news with you that I cleared SCJP 6.0 just a few hours ago with a score of 96%. Hearty thanks to everyone involved in the discussions on this forum. This forum helped me a lot with my doubts and questions.

A special thanks to Kathy & Bert for the excellent book they have written, and to Devaka for the wonderful product Examlab. I could not have scored this well without them. Thanks a lot..

I am wondering what to take up next, any suggestions?

hiii Kanishka Congratulations!!!

Will you please share your preparation which helped you?
I mean what else did you do except K&B and Examlab and how many months' preparation was required....
Please also tell that whether the questions in the real exam were tough as compared to ExamLab or not
Thanks

Congratulations.

Please let us know if the following does not happen:

By the end of the week, you will receive 2 e-mails from Sun. One e-mail will give you your Sun Certification ID and have information on how to register for the Certification Database. If you do not get that e-mail, send a message to who2contact@sun.com to ask about it.

Two to three weeks (or longer if you are not in the U.S.) after you register into the Certificate Database, you will receive in the postal mail a welcome kit containing your SCJP certificate and a small plastic wallet-size ID card that indicates your SCJP status. Your score is not printed on them. If you do not get that package then send a message to who2contact@sun.com to ask about it.

Thanks to all of you for your wishes.. .

Ujjawal, my preparation process (besides K&B book and ExamLab) involved practicing as many questions as I could on SCJP6. There are quite a few preparation kits available online(I do not know if I am allowed to name them here), which have demo exams as trials. Though I did not buy anything, but I made sure I tried all the questions available in the demos, and that gave me a lot of confidence. Also, I maintained a notebook in which I kept writing key points to remember about each topic on the exam. Everytime I got a wrong answer, I wrote it down and kept in mind the trick involved in it. I was also a regular visitor of this forum, where I got to learn a lot from discussions and doubts that people had. Internet really has all that you want, you just got to google it ;)

As for the difficulty level of the exam, the questions I got were very similar to the K&B master exam. I wont call them very difficult or very easy questions. It's just that after practicing so many questions and reading so much, you get used to identifying tricks, which makes them easy sometimes. Long story cut short, the SCJP6 exam is all about practicing as much as you can . All the best to all those who are preparing, I would be glad to help in anyway.

Larry, thanks for this info. I was wondering whom should I contact to receive the certification ID I will get back to you if this does not happen.

Oh, one thing. Jesper Young also provided a link to a list of phone numbers to call in case Sun does not respond to your e-mail.

In another thread I discovered that the e-mail address who2contact@sun.com is obsolete. If you have questions, try suncert_ww@oracle.com instead.
