String Parsing

Hi

I am trying to parse the line of a text in a file which is of the form
1000_1010 Some text goes here
I want two columns col1 containing only integer part (1000_1010) and the remaining text (Some text goes here) in another column
I have to store these into a linked list. The problem is I am not able to parse it according to my requirements.

How to parse? Please help me with this.

How are you trying to do it, and what is the result?

I tried to parse it using StringTokenizer but i get all individual words seperately I want the number in one variable and the remaining part of the line in another.

You can use String.indexOf to find the first space charatcer, and then use String.substring to cut the string in two at that position.
