I want to have Different Log files for multiple applications which are their on my server (Tomcat )

Can you please suggest ?

Can you please suggest tutorial to write my own appender , i want to know description of fields in appender.

Why would you need to write your own appender? Just configure Log4J (or whatever you're using) for each app, and configure a different file.

OK, next hint, Google search for how a jboss-log4j.xml file does this...
