I want to buy a new laptop but I am a bit confused :-
Requirements:- It should bear the Indian heat, long battery life.

Can anyone come up with nice suggestions

It should bear the Indian heat,

are you going to work directly under the sun?

I bought a MacBook Pro and it is awesome; the basic configuration cost me 54K after availing students discount.
Also, take a look at this thread: Which brand to choose?

good luck!

Apple recently updated the MacBook Pro models with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, so they're even awesomer now.

Actually, for me the processor upgrade isn't even that important - what I do like is that there's now the option to get the 15-inch model with a higher screen resolution (1680 x 1050 instead of the normal 1440 x 900). I would have liked to have a higher res screen, but I'm not going to replace my MBP which is not even a year old by a new one already.

+1 for MacBook Pro.

Aside from withstanding heat and having a long battery life, are there any other requirements? The first question is usually: What do you intended to do with this machine?
