virus attack in Browser

Looks my laptop is virus affected. Wheneer i click particular link, it directs to some junk link. First i faced this problem in google chrome, now same issue in IE. Any free virus cleaning software for the above mentioned issue?

I had this the other day. look for a program on your computer called "my security manager" or something like that. Its a virus and most up to date scanners can't see it. Was quite interesting, although it is really easy to get rid of. If we do have the same problem, just follow the steps below.

The following steps will ensure your fine again:
- Manually find the programs root (will not be in Control Panel -> "un/install programs")
- Delete what you can to stop 'most' of the problems, you won't be able to delete the *.exe right away.
- now start -> run -> msconfig -> "StartUp" tab, then find the *.exe in there and uncheck it. Close msconfig.
- Click "restart now" when prompted
- Log back in.
- Delete *.exe and directory.

problem solved.

I suggest running a deep scan after this. Just to make sure there are no traces of it or anything else.
