Hello,

Do you know the java based applications for the XML to PDF transformation?

Layouts are like normal text: text, itemized lists, tables, imported images etc.

I have already found docbook + XSL-FO (FOP or RenderX XEP) solution and it's seems really ok for me, but I want to know other solutions also.

I have experience about JasperReports and I will evaluate it also.

So if you can help me, it would be nice to hear about you.

Mika

If the XML could actually be XHTML, then the https://xhtmlrenderer.dev.java.net/ library is an interesting option. Styles would be applied via CSS (which is a much more widely available skill than XSL-FO).

Thanks, I will check the xhtmlrenderer. Maybe problem for my purposes is that it has LGPL license. Apache license is ok and all commercial products.

In the DocBook + XSL-FO solution the original XML is transformed first to DocBook XML with own XSL. After that the DocBook XSL will generate the XSL-FO-files.
