Hello,
I'm facing a timezone / daylight saving time problem:
The time given from the JVM has an offset of -1 hour. It seems it is the additional hour from the DST.
Operating system: Windows SBS 2008 Standard FE.
Timezone: (GMT+01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin, ...
Java Version: 1.6.0_20
Java HotSpot Client 16.3-b01
System time: 09:00
Java time: 08:00
I compared the system properties from this server with my laptop and recognized one difference:
laptop: user.timezone=Europe/Berlin
server: user.timezone=GMT+01:00
When setting the user timezone explicit with -Duser.timezone=Europe/Berlin the problem is gone. So it seems the problem is a broken mapping from system timezone to java timezone.
Any ideas how to fix that?
The workaround to set the timezone explicit is not possible because there are many java based applications on this machine and I can't change the java call for all.
