MySQL IN an app locally no internet connection in app[no mysql], can you tell some key tricks/tips

ALWAYS REFER FOR A JAVA DESKTOP App,
may have a database Access connected locally and same time, if networked app, have MySQL remotelly(same app) connected? I guess instead access I may use text files, correct?

To connect MySQL IN an app locally no internet connection in app, can you tell some key tricks/tips? I connect in Practice but want to know in case no mysql installation present?

connection pooling is the most difficult connection as of database, and refers to internet db connection, correct?
