Whats the Difference between applicationContext.xml, webApplicationContext.xml and context-*.xml ?

Please give me a clear difference and purpose of these context XML files in Spring MVC 3.0 . Also let me know the location of these files in a web application

If possible give me a description of how the Spring instantiates beans in Spring3.0 when using annotations.
