Tools for "Break It" testing of HTTPS requests

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi everyone,

Here's my dilemma: We are planning to do a "break it" testing (aka performance testing or load testing) on a certain application. We originally considered using jmeter for this but the problem is, it does not support monitoring and recording of HTTPS requests, only HTTP requests. The second option was using The Grinder tool but we still have to learn Jython script in order to use it and we don't have that much time anymore. So can you guys recommend me any other open source tools we could use for testing? and could monitor and record HTTPS requests?

Thanks,
Andres

Just glancing at the docs, JMeter claims to support HTTPS - where did you run into a problem?

Check this link. I also tried it myself and it wouldn't work.

I see, apparently it isn't the creation of HTTPS requests but the recording proxy which is the problem.

I have used HttpCLient to create loads for testing, and a google search for "apache httpclient ssl" found some instances of people using HttpClient with SSL. That would be a Java solution but you would have to write a lot of support code.

This guy is skipping without a rope. At least, that's what this tiny ad said:
