Send SMS in Java

I'm doing a project using JSF (ICEFaces) which has an SMS module where I am going to use GSM Modems for sending SMS.
Can any one tell me how to configure the device from Java codes and send SMS through them.
Please help.

Thanks a lot for the guide.
Right now I'm trying to use SMSLib for the purpose and I found the following codes to be working. But I want to have multiple devices so that while sending SMS I want to choose specific device and also I want to check if the device is working properly or not.
Please I'm Helpless....!!

	        Service srv;

		OutboundMessage msg;

		srv = new Service();

		SerialModemGateway gateway = new SerialModemGateway("modem.com1", "/dev/ttyS0", 9600, "VISIONTEX", "81GC");

		srv.addGateway(gateway);

		srv.startService();

		msg = new OutboundMessage("+(919394868787", "Test message");

		srv.sendMessage(msg);

		System.in.read();
