Hi All,

We can specify the handler configuration file in jaxws client by using annotations like @javax.jws.HandlerChain(file="myhandler.xml")

Is there any predefined file for giving handler configurations? so that i can just edit that file and avoid modifying the existing client program.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Jobin. The JAX-WS specification probably says that you can specify a file name using the HandleChain annotation. Section 9.2.1.3 of the specification says:
"An implementation MUST support using the HandlerChain annotation on an endpoint implementation class, including a provider, on an endpoint interface and on a generated service class."

However, it is upto JAX-WS providers/implementers (I mean like Axis, GlassFish) to provide a convenience like a default file in their tooling. So I doubt there is a default file. You would have to look up the documentation of the provider you are using.

Best regards.

Hi!
It is also possible to use <handler-chain> elements in a web service deployment descriptor (see JSR-109 version 1.2) to specify a handler that applies to:
- All ports of a service.
- Specific ports of a service.
- Certain protocol bindings of a service.

This also enables addition of a handler to a service which you do not have the source code to.
However, still no default file.
Best wishes!
