Hi,

Recently, the JRockit JDK I was using crashed with the following message in the crash file:



Analyzing the file, I could understand that optimization is enabled also the jvm crashed on the following:

*/usr/local/bea/jrockit-R27.5.0-jdk1.5.0_14/jre/lib/amd64/jrockit/libjvm.so

What exactly is the cause of this?

While going through other links, I could understand that, due to and during optimization the JVM crashes!

What my concern is if optimization hampers the performance and due to optimization, the JVM crashes, why is the optimization enabled?

Also I would like to know how does the JVM code crashed due to optimization?

To disable optimization -Xnoopt is used and this might avoid a crash!

I know that this question is very specific. If anyone would like to comment on these question, please feel free to do so.
